| What web sites will be good to look at for quality parts? This will be my first build and I want to make sure it's done right. If you can give me an idea of were to start looking that would be great. |

The Equipment Exchange is an awesome resource. There are a number of good dealers who regularly post there. Some good sources for quality parts: Eaglefirearms Del-ton Adco DSG Arms Ameetec My first AR was also my first build. I asked a lot of questions. These were some of the dealers I found that were particularly helpful and responsive. In the end I chose Eagelfirearms but would have no problems spending my money with any of them. |

+1 for Eaglefirearms I would go with a Stag lower and complete upper from eaglefireams. If your looking for a less expensive kit try J&T or Model 1 Sales. Some say M1S is no good but I've heard just as many good stories for M1S as bad. J&T is supposedly a tad bit better. Either way get a chrome lined barrel. BTW Title II has stripped Stag lowers for $90 shipped to your FFL. You could also go with a Mega lower from www.carricozarmory.com for $87 that is if he ever gets any more in. Mega is having machine problems which is holding up production. |

+1 on all the aforementioned replies. I'd like to add my experience when I did my first build... 1. Either buy the right size clevis pin or spring the $6-7 for a "Front Takedown Detent Installation Tool". You can download drawings of it if you have the ability to make it. 2. With that, also get 2-3 extra detent pins. The installation tools are not fool-proof. I still feel nothing as simple as this rifle should have a moving part the size of a grain of rice.he GL and post pics when you have it together. |
