So, here I am. I've been shooting forever, but have never owned an AR. I just picked up a stripped lower for $120 from my friend.
http://www.ar15news.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/AR57-Forged-AR-FIFTEEN-Lower-Receiver-3.jpg My rules are: 1) Stay under $1000 2) No "tacticool" stuff. I don't care about flashlights, lasers, bayonets, etc 3) I'd like to gear it for mid-long range. I'm on a student budget, so I'll probably have to buy this gun piece by piece, and probably search around for deals. So, first off, I'm going to need a quality lower receiver parts kit. Could someone recommend a cheap but reliable lower parts kit? |

I'm not sure how old it is. Is there any way to visually check whether or not it's built to spec? Also, I'm not too concerned about it being "mil-spec", as long as it's functional. I don't plan to fight any wars with this one. =P I am talking about parts that actually fit, not "mil-spec" Do a search for it. There is a lot of info on it. AR57 made good on the ones that were bad, as I recall. |
