OK, I've ordered a kit from J&T,A lower from Pete in NH,bought 3 roll pin punches. How badly do I need the roll pin holders(@10.00 each)? How badly do I need the pivot pin installation tool? and how/where would I get one? any other advice that you may offer is much appreciated. Thanks. Mike |

I've done several successfully but am hardly an expert, so take this for what it is worth. Never used a roll pin holder,or knew they existed for that matter. Just used a grinder to put a slight chamfer on the front end of any pin that was being difficult. You can used some cold blue to touch up the pin if you like. You can make a pivot pin tool out of a short piece of 1/4" rod with a 1/8" hole drilled about 1/4" in from one end. Take your time on the first one. The process can seem daunting at first glance, but after you do it you'll wonder why you were so concerned. |
