I just finished assembling my first lower. I used an Anvil Arms lower. I picked it up at the show today and they were kind enough to work with me on the artwork. I also went ahead and sprung for the internal parts. I may end up replacing the trigger, but for now I am surprised at how nice and clean a pull it has. My next decission will be what stock to put on it. The upper will have a heavy 22in barrel, so I am thinking sticking with an A2 style buttstock to help balance it out. http://www.k-a.net/forum/emar2.jpg http://www.k-a.net/forum/emar1.jpg |

I got mine from a local outfit, that was doing a gunshow in my town this weekend. I've already mated it to my Bushy upper just to check fit and fuction. I must say its a very nice fit indeed. www.anvilarms.com |

Got the call from Les Baer today. My upper will be on my doorstep Friday. OOOOOh I just can't wait. |
+1 That little Monkey is bad ass! ETA: I wouldn't replace the Trigger. Jon uses Good Quality LPK's. I would just Modify it your self for about $15-$20 Bucks. Take the Hammer and Cut the hook off of it, So it becomes a Lo-mass hammer much like the JP Enterprise Speed Hammer. Polish the Trigger and Hammer engagement surfaces without removing any material "If you remove or cut any material off of the engagement surface you will take away the surface hardening and it will wear prematurely, that's why I only Polish it to a Mirror finish", The last thing is to add a Set of JP Enterprise 3lb springs. You will end up with a Nice Crisp 4lb Trigger without compromising relialibity. It only takes about 45 Minutes to complete the Entire process. I would also add a set of KNS pins to finish it off. |
You could always throw in one of those lead butt stock weights they sell for about $20 for the a2's. |

My rifle arrived on Friday as expected, and suffice it to say I was very pleased with the results. I started a new thread with some pics of the finished product. www.ak47.net/forums/topic.html?b=3&f=4&t=370067 Thanks to everyone for their help and advice on my first build. I think my next project will be a 9mm or 45acp. I either case it'll be a while before I can do that. |
