I checked the chart for the Q3131a an I just want to make sure I fully understand the chart.  From what I can tell, the Q3131a fired out of a 16 inch barrel will drop -8.47 inches at 200 yards.  So if I zero my rifle at 100 yards I'll need to adjust my point of aim (adjust my new scope) how much?  Would I take the -1.97 from the 200 yard drop to get the actual drop?  If you haven't gathered, I am damn confused on this so any and all help is not only GREATLY needed, it will be GREATLY appreciated.  Thanks

I have yet to look at the chart in the Oracle.

Zero your scope at 50 yards and it should be darn close at 200 because of the line of sight and bullet trajectory etc yada yada, or sight it 1.5" high at 100 yards.   Never trust published charts for zeros even though they usually are d@mn close.

It's best to find a range with 600 yards with a berm in 100 yard increments or target pits.  It makes for finding elevation come ups fast and easy.

Shoot your rifle at the exact range you want a zero.  There is NO substitute for shooting YOUR rifle. If you have to ask a question like this you need the practice.

the horizontal dotted line is the line of sight

here is the IBZ using a 50yd zero out of a 16" barrel 1-9" twist with a sight height of 2.6"
(this is how i have my bushy m4 zeroed and it works fine)

at 25yds----------- 1.2" low
at 100yds--------- 1.7" high
at 150yds--------- 2.4" high
at 200yds--------- 1.9" high
at 250yds--------- 0"
at 300yds--------- 3" low

this is for use with iron a2 sights

please verify the other distances with your gun
weather conditions also change the trajectory of the bullet to.

also sighting in a scope is a little different
to be able to know the trajectory of the bullet you must know the height over bore
look here for more info height over bore

here is how i have my varmint ar15 20" 1-8" twist stainless steel barrel
height over bore: 2.67"
scope: 16X42 super sniper mil dot
ammo: blue box blackhills 68gr match
zero: 50yds & 200yds

at 50yds------------   0
at 100yds----------- 1.25" high
at 150yds----------- 1.30" high
at 200yds-----------  0
at 250yds----------- 3" low

this method works great for my gun very flat
hope this helps

I never said I wasn't going to shoot my rifle, I just bought a new scope and thought I fish around for what the rest of the AR guys were doing.  I shoot plenty, but I have never dealt with a "real" magnified optic.  So "If I have to as this question" it simply means I'd like to ask the question and has SQUAT to do with me needing to practice. Thanks for the hlp anyway

Brandon, that helps a TON.  I am actually working with a 1:8 SS 16inch barrel and will be shooing the blue box 68's also once I get a satisfactory zero with the scope.  I bought a Nikon 4.5x14 buckmaster so I am really excited about getting out and seeing how the barrel will really shoot.  Thanks again

If you have experience at shooting at these respective distances with A2 or any other iron sight with MOA adjustments, a rifle scope would correlate the same.  If you know, why ask? Good luck.
