I'm always on the lookout for an optic or reflex sight that's cheaper than the eotech or aimpoint. I was looking around the interwebs and found the Burris Fast fire. I've owned Burris scopes for deer rifles in the past and have been very pleased with them.

Has anyone tested these out or know anything about them?

I have one on a revolver, and it works just fine.  I'm not sure how I'd like it on a rifle.

IMO, one positive that the Fastfire has over other mini red dots is a "no questions asked" lifetime guarantee.

They're a little pricey and fragile, and take an oddball battery (not the ubiquitous cr2032), and the adjustments are coarse and finicky.  I also hate the auto-off but with such limited battery life and thin aluminum (easy to crossthread) battery lid the auto-off is a neccessity.  On the plus side the glas has very mild tint, the dot is clear and round, and the auto brightness works well.

Good for a pistol or 3-gun rifle where weight is a major factor.  On an AR I prefer the closed style red dots like the Aimpoint T1 clones from Burris, Primary Arms.

The new unlimited warrantee is outstanding, and Burris just sent me back a replacement Fastfire III after I broke my old one (dropped the upper, FFIII broke), so that part is an awesome upside, if you dont mind the 4-6 week turnaround.  Great to see Burris stepping up with this warrantee.  When I origionally bought mine it only came with a 1-year limited warrantee.

It comes with the battery: CR1632

I've got two of them. Each mounted to an AK.

Had them for about 2 years.
Zero issues.

But then again, I dont abuse my gear for giggles either.

I like them, but I will be buying Primary Arms Advance Micro Dot

Watch the bottom video and see the abuse the throw at that red dot.

For the price, you cant beat it.
