Looking at getting one.  Any info on them would be great.  Good for patrol use?  How long does the battery last?  Which mount is the best?  Plan to use on a 10.5 sbr.  Thanks.

I put one on a Glock 19 recently to check out the concept. I'm not impressed with the concept on a pistol except for running plates. As far as on a rifle . . . easier to use I expect. But I can compare it side by side with my son's EOTech and the EOTech seems worth 10 times more vs twice as much. I'm not that impressed by the Fastfire. Seems flimsy in comparison.

I agree, for real-world patrol use as OP indicated I wouldn't trust it to stay working/intact like I would an EOTech or Aimpoint.  My girlfriend has one on her AR, and my buddy has one on his AK.  They work well enough for rifles, but they are range-only weapons.  The benefit is that they are small and light, but they do work well and hold zero.

Again, get a proven optic for real-world use.  I wouldn't want to realize that I should have spent the $$$ on a proven optic at the worst time.  Just MHO.
