| Tell me the good and bad. Can you recommend a mount that will not break the bank, not looking to spend $200.00 on a mount for a range toy. |

And the PEPR is nowhere near their quality or indestructible ruggedness. But at its price point it is a reasonable choice for "almost" return to zero. Quoted:

Larue, ADM, and Bobro are no where near the price range of the PEPR. And the PEPR is nowhere near their quality or indestructible ruggedness. But at its price point it is a reasonable choice for "almost" return to zero. I agree . I had a 1 inch version and it would not hold a scope . what ever scope I tried they would slip maybe I just got a bad one it happens but the screws are soft metal so be aware cranking on them they will strip . rock river makes a one piece mount that is very durable for around 60.00 . Its made in the states if thats a big deal to ya , but its not as light as the larue or bobro type mounts. |

But at its price point it is a reasonable choice for "almost" return to zero. I'll mostly agree, but their toughness is not so bad. I am not aware of any optics that could withstand a beating that the PEPR mounts would fail first. I own several types of mounts that I prefer over my PEPR mounts, but the PEPR mount is fine in it's price point. All my PEPR mounts are 30mm, only one of mine are QD- but all mine return to near zero similar to my LaRue mounts (but at much lower cost). For normal use, they are OK, and tough enough. There are better mounts, but at higher costs. Mine work well in my uses, I do not fear them failing- ever. |
| I have one and so does my buddy, he has the QD and mine is normal. They both work fine for our purposes, and we shoot almost every weekend. Never had a problem with them coming loose or anything, they seem really well made for the price you pay for them. Honestly unless I was a pro with sponsors and whatnot I would never spend $200 on a scope mount, I'd put that extra money towards ammo for some trigger time. |

One is on the 5.56, the other is on a 308. I don't usually strip screws because I make sure the bits I am using are inserted all of the way before I start turning them, and I don't crank on them. I torque them to proper specification. My only complaint is how heavy they are. |
| I have had one for a few months now and it seems good and solid. I have knocked it around pretty good and it hasn't loosened up or lost zero. It's a bit heavy but my scope isn't a lightweight either (about 21 or 22oz.). I'd say for the price it's one of the better ones out there. |
| I have PEPR and a Vortex mount , both are great so far but would give Vortex +1 only because of the hex keys instead of the larger bolts to clamp it down. This keeps it a little more slim line and hex keys do not seem to get scarred us as easy as the bolts. I have removed both multiple times and they always have returned to zero + - .5 MOA . |
