Can someone recommend options for my C15 (optics, sites, rails, ammo, etc)

Thanks,
Frank

Prepare for the inevitable punishment that will soon be dished out by the crowd here....

The popular consensus will be to sell the gun and purchase a PSA (or similar).  The Carbon-15 is supremely frowned upon.  If selling and purchasing another isn't an option, I'd invest in a quality red dot (aimpoint/eotech/trij), and ammo.  Check out the Bushnell TRS-25 or Vortex Strikefire, too.

For optics you should check out Primary Arms. Their optics are hard to beat at the price point. PMC bronze is good range ammo.

Take it out and shoot it. If it breaks, get a PSA. I wouldn't put too much money in a polymer ar.

Yeah I wouldn't try to upgrade it maybe find a eotech or aimpoint on the ee that you can keep for your next rifle. Shoot your bushmaster for now and maybe build your own later on after you know what you like and don't like about it.

I'd get an Aimpoint Micro on a LaRue mount and just start another build.  The beauty of adding that sight is that it can be transfered to another weapon.  Same goes for buying a whole bunch of PMags.

What is your budget, do you want magnified or not, red dot, etc etc what are you looking for.

Tell us what you want to do with the rifle so we can recommend something for you.

Don't feel bad.  I'm also a recent C15 buyer.  But I got mine for a pretty good price and I don't plan on doing much more than plinking and target practice, plus it's not one of my top 5 HD guns.  I've picked up 4 Magpul magazines and 2 BM mags and they work fine.

Depending on what you plan to use the gun for, there are some BM handguard upgrades that'll give you additional picatinny rails.  As far as the OE RedDot that came with mine, it's a cheap, Hammers 1x32.  However, I've sighted it in at 50 yards and I'm happy with 2" and the occasional 3" groupings; good enough for my needs.  I intend on adding a light but that's proabably as much as I'll do to this AR.  I may keep my eyes out for something a bit more... "accepted"... by the forum community for my wife.

I've only shot American Eagle AE223J and a little bit of Federal Fusion MSR since I bought the gun but should have some other NATO ammo arriving monday.  Not a single issue but it's only been about 100 rounds in 2 range trips.

I'd like to put a rail and iron sites in addition to a red dot scope.  Budget is around $400.

Thanks for you help.

Will need to free float if you wish to add a front iron on the rail.

12" VTAC rail: HERE   $190
Magpul MBUS front: HERE $40
Magpul MBUS rear: HERE $58
Primary Arms/Bushnell TRS25 and mount: HERE  $115

There are other brands/types to look at, but the above fits your budget.   Also, check out the EE section, as you can find some good deals in there from other forum members.   You may (or may not) need to remove the bayonet lug, I've not used one.
