I have a Bushmaster M4 A2 type carbine (yes, I know it's not an M4 so don't waste a post explaining this) that I've owned for about a year now. Unfortunately, I do not get an opportunity to go out to the range much so it's only been fired about 6 times. Before taking it out, I thoroughly cleaned it and have cleaned it after each trip to the range. Despite cleaning, the trigger feels really gritty. Each time I fire, it seems if like that there is sand in the trigger mechanism. I don't expect a super smooth pull to the trigger, but I figured that the pull would be smoother that it is. Any thoughts or recommendations? Or are Bushmasters just like this? |

Had the same issue with my Bushmaster carbine. That said, it was no better or worse than either of my Colts, including a brand new 6920. I overkilled the problem on the BM and one of the Colts with aftermarket triggers, leaving the 6920 in its pristine state. If I had it to do over again, I'd try the fixes suggested before making the aftermarket leap, but that's water under the bridge. I need all the help I can get, and the improved triggers sure were a big step in the right direction. |

I put thousands of rounds through my Bushy, and the trigger stayed as bad as the day I bought the gun. Mine was so gritty I thought I could hear it. Last week I installed a Timney trigge. YAHOO! That is one hot trigger. Ditch the stock trigger and get yours worked over or replaced. |
