I was at my local gun store and was checking out the ARs.  He had a new Bushmaster M4A3 new for $899.  Is this a decent price?  Is this a decent gun?  I am really trying to talk myself out of this purchase.  I don't need an AR but dang, I really want one.  Not even sure if I can afford ammo for it but it keeps calling my name.  I can scrape the money together for the gun but won't have the money for all the extra magazines and ammo. Decisions decisions.  Back to the original question, good price?  Good rifle?

Thats a great price and a great rifle.  You'll be happy with it.  I own several Bushmasters, they all run great.  I have not had any problems with any Bushmaster so far.

Good price.  I paid signficantly more in a weak moment. You might do a little better on-line, but probably not enough to justify the effort.

Good weapon.  Excellant form, fit, and function.  There are a few well publicised  details that aren't up to Colt 6920 standards, but these are of little or no relevance to the non-pro shooter (like me).  I upgraded the trigger which from the factory was typical of AR triggers (heavy and gritty), added an EoTech and some other stuff and in general, thoroughly enjoy the weapon.

Do it!
I love mine.
I just added an LMT SOPMOD stock to mine.  The only thing I was not happy with is the factory stock.

Go for it!

I have a Bushy M4A3 and couldn't be happier with it. The fit and finish on mine was very good and there is zero play between the upper and lower. The gas key is well staked and the overall BCG is well done. Bushmaster misses on a few of the minor details that the high dollar rifles cover, but you are not paying the high dollar price tag either. It is more than enough rifle for my needs.

The only thing I did was put a trigger spring kit in mine and now it has a crisp four pound trigger. I installed a 1.5-4.5 illuminated scope this past weekend and was shooting consistent inch and a half groups off the bench. Not bad for a sixteen inch barreled carbine!

Plus if Barrack Hussein gets elected a new assault weapons ban will be just around the corner. If this happens the price on available black rifles will go way up, if you can find one.

Sounds like a good price. I've had many different Bushmasters over the years and find them to be a good utilitarian rifle.

Maybe just me, but I get real snitty when the "high end" stuff gets dirty or dusty or gets a scratch on it. My Bushmasters get used and some might say abused. They have held up great, function just fine, and are surprisingly accurate.
