I have a question, My friend owns a Bushy XM-15 E2S, we just got back from shooting and in my office I have flouresent lights....I noticed that the Barrel is a green color and so is the rear sight as well as the trigger, compared to the front and rear furniture and lower is all black.

On the Barrel under the front sight is a Crown.....Has this weapon been customized or anything? or is this standard for Bushmaster.....

I think steel that has been treated with phosphate looks slightly green.  Aluminum that has been adonized black either looks black, gray or purple.

Yep. Magnesium phosphate can have different hues.. One of which is slightly green. Both BMs I have have a black tint to the bbls. But I have seen other variations.

Bushmaster will tell you, they use the correct (I'm not gonna say Mil Spec) process for all coatings and finishes, producing the correct greenish-gray hue on the parts, NOT black as most parts appear in low or various other types of light.

If I recall correctly, a pure black color like black paint, is a give away that your parts are sub-standard.
