PK Firearms has a Bushmaster Upper (this is just the upper w/ forward assist and port cover, no barrel or anything else).  It has M4 Feed Ramps.  Although I usually try and stay away from Bushmaster parts, I think most upper receivers are made to the same specs by the same folks.  Would this be a good idea for my build.  I am building with high quality barrels and such, but if I get this I can order everything from PK.  Is it a godd idea or an unsafe risk/bet?  Thanks.

I have used tons of Bushmaster parts, and they work great.  Why would you avoid Bushmaster?  During the ban and shortly thereafter, they had some issues with uppers/lowers being purple-looking, haha.  Other than that, they have a good rep, and they sell good parts.

I would just get this one, though.

Cheaper, has the ramps you need, and same finish as the Bushmaster (anodized, not Teflon).  I have three of them - high quality uppers.

I picked one of those up a few months ago for a 5.56 build for my wife's new AR.  Finish matched an extra Stag lower I had.  BCM barrel, LaRue rail, and Rock River BCG completed the build.  Everything works great together.  She has put about 500-600 rounds through it w/o issue.  I also have a complete Bushmaster M4gery AR that is  a few years old and has been my favorite AR since I bought it.  BCM has some M4 uppers here for a good price too.
