[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Bushmaster flash supressor/muzzle breaks

Whats the difference between the types Bushmaster offers? Birdcage, AK, Izzy, Phanton, Y COMP? Is one better than the rest? I have the Izzy supressor, not chosen just was the one on my M4 i recently bought. Just curious, thanks.

I would rate them like so, from best to worst:

FLASH SUPPRESSION

Phantom
Birdcage
Izzy COMP
Y Comp
AK Brake

BRAKE PERFORMANCE

Y Comp
AK Brake
Izzy Comp
Phantom/A2 birdcage

If you want good flash suppression, the Phantom is king over all the others except for the Smith Vortex.

If you want a brake from Bushmaster, the Y comp works but be ready for the extra noise under overhangs or projected out at your buddies.

I had a Y-comp on a dissapator barrel during the Clinton days. The noise that the thing generates is deafening!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was at the range with a friend and he said it was obnoxious.

They ONLY reason I use a PHANTOM is because of my 14.5
Id rather have the Bird Cage myself

I dont like brakes on a M4 thats for protection

a brake on a match type is fine

I do like PHANTOM OVER VORTEX

VORTEX = DUST KICKING UP WHEN PRONE
