With the new custom logos from companies like Tam Sawyers becoming all the rage, and the technology to engrave really detailed images onto a lower, isn't it time for Bushmaster to change its logo too? I mean, that snake logo is kinda lame. The real bushmaster snake isnt even a rattler. Can any of you photo shoppers out there creat a new logo for Bushy, and show us some pics? And now with the buyout, they are under Cerberus, a three headed dog could make for a cool logo. What do ya think? |
Dude, that was a lot of work to post a pic just to say you don't care. I was just wanting to see what people could come up with, I know BM is not going to change their logo. This is a "just for fun post", because I have seen some really cool looking logos lately. Try some decaf, jeez. |
| I said it earlier, this is a "just for fun post", I don't buy anything because of a cool logo, I buy to get the best value for my cash (bang for the buck, so to speak), I buy the highest quality I can afford. I do have some product loyalty, like buying Ford trucks. I just wanted to see what some of our resident artists could come up with. |

I bought a Doublestar lower coz I liked the logo. hat The only other logo that I have an opinion on? Stag Arms. That goofy deer head on the side irks me no end, for no reason I can explain. |
| I love the Bushy logo. But I just tried to convince a buddy to buy a Stag lower and he will not due to the gay logo on the receiver. I have one on order, but think the logo lowers my desire to build up a really nice rifle on it. Just a cheap shooter with the silly logo. Before you flame me, I like my Century lower with just a name on it with no logo. |

Logos are....Logos. They are just brand recognition. From the Kodak K to the Toyota T, just a way to recognize the brand quickly and associate it with the product. Marketing, that's all it is. Changing a logo that has brand recognition is costly in terms of advertising to reassociate the product with a new logo. When Kodak 'modernised' their logo some years ago, they had a big advert blitz that cost quite a few shekels. I was in that industry at the time and just didn't see the point. They had to modernise their product offering to keep market share, not their logo. Despite that new logo, Kodak lost market share to other companies like Agfa and Fuji who were aggressive and made inroads with new products. I think the Bushmaster logo is just fine. If people see that logo and assume the product is of high quality/performance because it is 'Bushmaster', then it has done it's job, however dorky it may seem to look. Now, I'm not in advertising (I'm in IT) but that's my take. I bought my Bushy partly because it was Bushmaster, and I assumed (rightly in my case) that it would be a fine product. The logo worked. The logos on major brand AR lowers are not engraved. They are roll marked, which is a type of stamping. This process is for mass production. It is less intensive work. Virtually all factory firearms are roll marked. Sawyers stuff is one off custom work which commands a higher price. He uses some type of CNC/CAD machine to transfer the images to the lower. Tom Sawyers MFG process is irrelavent to wheither or not Bushy can or should change their logo. |

They are not crayons, they are 'tactical receiver marking kits'. I think that's what they're called at Brownells.

GTS has a nice lower without any mammals, reptiles, antlers, regulatory statments, nor other bling. ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=7&f=21&t=316985 ar-jedi ![]() |

Someone should use a CO2 laser engraving system in their manufacturing process. You could do some fairly complicated graphics work using a laser system, and you could potentially change it on the fly. Like, incorporating the serial number into the logo artwork... Jim |

What possible question has not been asked on this forum? Just thought a different topic would be cool. This was NEVER meant to be a serious post, but I see some people didn't take it that way. Sorry your "honest post " didn't get the attention you thought it deserved. Ask a question that hasn't been asked before, search the archives, lighten up. OHHH, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE MAKE THIS POST ON PAGE 3!!! |
