My question is why the difference and what is the difference?

Just an evolution of the logo, and perhaps it was made by 2 different contractors.

Nothing really special. Just different.

snakes head is a little diffrent.... the diffrence in pics makes it hard to pick up anything else

lol I can see the differences what I meant by "what is the difference" I meant in the two makes/models ontop of why there is a difference.

The heads are the only things that are different, same MOD #'s and all.

Nothing else different.

Besides the head (edit: and the gun in the logo), I can't see anything different. My guess is, just a newer logo. Definitely looks cooler.

The bottom one was a stripped lower.

IIRC the top lower (s/n prefix BF) was machined at Bushmaster. The other lower (s/n prefix L ) was machined at one of Bushmaster's subcontractor's (LAR).

More trivia... The snake on the carbon-15 receivers manufactured at Lake Havasu, AZ are on the right hand side of the lower receiver. The aluminum receivers have them on the left hand side...

one looks like a chick snake lol maybe to appeal to the female shooter crowd, or soften the guns image to the democrats lol...boy I wonder who at bushmaster corporate proofed/ok'ed that smiley logo...he must have a sense of humor
