It is milspec minus the auto sear hole. All milspec have a high and low tolerance. Some manufacturers products are on the high side or vice versa. Even Colt's are not all the same tolerances from batch to batch. Minor diferences but still within spec.

some colts are Block

my lmt is just like a regular m16 lower except for a hole ?   with my bushmaster it would need the hole and machine out the right side a bit?

Almost all AR15 lowers are not machined out on the right side exactly like an M16. As they don't use an auto sear, the extra machining is not necessary. I take it LMT is machined out like and M16 on the right side?

Since it doesn't make any difference in an AR15, does it make a difference to you? Most people go with the notion that mil-spec refers to 7075, T6 aluminum with the same anodizing as on an M16 and the same machining specs minus those machining steps specific to an M16. In that regard, the BM is as close to mil-spec as possible with the exception of the area on the right inside the magwell you mentioned. I have not seen the inside of an LMT.

Most people are more concerned with the barrels being mil-spec 4150 instead of the more prevelant 4140 steel barrels on the market.

Edited cause I'm a dork sometimes.

LMT may not have the little right side hump that Bushie and some others build in, supposedly to inhibit, but not prevent, use of drop in auto sears., but I assure you that it is NOT milled to accept an M16 auto sear.

From what I understand the LMTs are cut about like the SP1 Colts back there, so they will accept a DIAS, but you'd need a hell of a lot more than drilling a hole to install an M16 auto sear.

How do I know this?  Because I class 3d my SP1 Colt in 1978, and know full well how much metal had to be miulled out of that lower to accept the auto sear.  Drilling the hole is the easy part
