They are out already. We have one on the shelf at the shop I work at. I can't remember how much it is are marked, but they are a little more than a regular AR. The ammo is expensive. $50 a box retail. Cost is in the $35 a box range.

I was way off on the price of ammo. $35 per box retail. Still expensive, but not nearly as bad.

Right now, there about three, maybe more, of these large caliber AR options out there:  .50 Beowulf, .450 Bushmaster, and .458 SOCOM, that I can think of.

I figure that there's really only room in the market for one.

I find all these intriguing, but think I'll wait this one out a while.

I still have .41 AE brass and a M1911 barrel around somewhere.

Retail for the .450 Bushmaster is $1340 on the 16" and I'm thinking its just a tad higher on the 20". They are beginning to dribble out from the distributors, but are not staying on the retailer's shelves long. Good luck finding one!

Indiana just legalized certain rifles for deer hunting this year (we've always been a shotgun state), so I expect that to increase sales of rifles in the legal calibers. The .458 SOCOM is the only big bore of the three listed above that is legal for deer hunting here, so it has definitely found a new market. I know of at least 5 people who have already bought uppers for this coming season.
