I'm thinking it would be a better match on a weapon that needs a low mounted sight, not an AR.

i see. makes sense now.

the window does seem rather small... at least smaller than Bushenell's EOTech-looking unit (which i believe is made by EOTech?)

I would get and EoTech.  The one that looks like an EoTech is an EoTech.
