Got first AR - 20 inch bushy with A2 handle. Love it and want to put an affordabel scope on it. My basics will be 100-200 yard target shooting...nothing crazy.

How are the aluminum handle mounts Bushmaster has for about $25? also read good reviews on Bushnell Elite scopes. I found a 3200 for $165 and am tempted to buy....any thoughts from you veterans?

PS - I do plan to build my next and go with flat top, but for now want to have fun with this one

thanks

For scopes, Bushnell Elites are an outstanding quality buy in the "value" category, both the 3200 and 4200 series.  Other good scopes you should consider in this same price range are Burris Fullfield II series, Nikon Buckmaster scopes, and Sightron S2 series.  All of these have similarly priced and featured scopes that compete with other brands costing hundreds more.

For mounts, there's no need to even spend $25 for a handle mount.  You can buy an $8.99 Pro Mag handle mount from MidwayUSA.com, and the quality on that thing is every bit as good as the ones that are charging you 3 to 4 times higher.  Read the customer reviews, I just bought this one myself and it's every bit as good as the expensive ones.  Actually better, because it has a bigger hole in the bottom so you can see your iron sights beneath it better than many similar mounts.
