The little part / latch like thing that is screwed on to the bottom of the Buttstock? Was loose, I tightened it back up..... any major role or problem?

since you live in NY, my guess is that your stock is pinned in place and can't be collapsed or extended.
in the rest of the country, that latch is what people use to adjust the length of the stock. press it up and slide back and forth to lengthen or shorten the LOP. until you move to a different state, there isn't a problem with that lever being tightened into place. |
