You'll be a lot happier with a Magpul CTR or MOE and the Vltor EMOD. Storing a bunch of 123's isn't all it's crack up to be...do you need more weight on your rifle? Keep them in you ditch bag with the rest of your shit. I like the feel of the CTR and MOE and they do look cool. I had a Vltor but I do not like the wide stocks like it and the SOPMOD. I really did like the battery storage of the Vltor. Now that my optic and light both use CR123a it can't hurt to have some fresh ones on hand. How much weight do four weigh? Maybe one ounce? |

When did rifles become a fashion statement. If it works for you who cares what the perps think!I think the OP does and that's ok. I'm just being truthful. I see all top of the line gear so far and anytime I see UTG, CAA, and Tapco I'm like the guy must be saving up still. |

When did rifles become a fashion statement. If it works for you who cares what the perps think!I'm not worried about what people think. I've never handled one of the CAA stocks and CAA doesn't enjoy the same reputation for quality that MagPul, Vltor and others do. I don't want to buy it for certain features and find out that the latch or something is prone to snapping off in the middle of a carbine class. |

My .02 I have the CAA 6pos collaspable stock and while it did save me quite a bit of money, i am not that happy about it. I have not handled other collapsable stocks so take this for what it is, but my CAA seems to wiggle a bit. While it is "just a stock", it is the thing you constantly feel, hold tightly (in prone position), and use to help steady the rifle for accurate shots. When building this rifle I thought there were a couple parts that were "just" such-and-such and ended up going with the cheaper part. I can honestly say I regret it. If this is your go-to gun, i stronly suggest going with the better option right off the bat. I think it will make you happier in the short term and save you money in the long run. I built my gun with top-tier parts (DD lite rail, Young mfg bcg..etc) except for the stock because it was "just a stock". After shooting it for the first time, I immidiately wished i had a better (stiffer) stock. Again, I dont know how much wiggle the Magpul stocks have once clicked into position. I will definitely feel one out before i purchase, but due to their popularity, i have a feeling they're stocks are as nice as everything else they make. |

I hear you .Sorry if I sounded negative,My two have worked fine for me.For the price it's a good value (for me) and a step up from the standard M4 stock.Hope this tone is more helpful . |
| I've had a couple CAA stocks. They were okay and I didn't have problem with them. They did the job, kinda like a Dodge truck. Personally, I prefer the stock off a SIG 556 and have two of them to back my preference. Haven't owned any of the expensive stocks as they're not worth it to me for what I need them for. To each his own. |
| I like my CAA stock so far. It doesnt rattle when I have it pressed into my shoulder and I like that I have 4 CR123's that are attached to the rifle (since my rifle's light runs on CR123's). Also I think it looks fine. I have played with the Magpuls and the friction lock is nice to eliminate some slop, but like I said, my CAA doesnt rattle when its on my shoulder. |

As opposed to a standard M4 type stock you gain, battery storage, and sling mounting options, and a rubber recoil pad, which doesn't have a lot of recoil to deal with but it does provide a non-slip surface.
Other than that no great advantage over an M4 type from company "X". They are all similar plastic and work the same. Down sides: The door seems a bit flimsy so the storage option it provides may be for a limited time. The rail on the opposite side has seemed useless to me. I personally removed the door and the rail and run my sling attachment strap through the sloot that was meant for battery storage. Mine has been no mor loose than any other M4 type stock and tighter than some. The sling mounting options were worth it for me, and the rubber pad is nice for keeping the carbine in place on my shoulder. Yes, ARF.commers will laugh at you and say you've got a crappy stock. I'm crying my eyes out on the inside. Really. |

The QD to the rear is alright, but the forward one is in a retarded spot that does not let he sling swivel around enough to use it as a place to mount a single point and that annoyed me. The box is lame and the compartment door would open during use as the little latch would hit stuff and unlatch. The rail is almost as worthless as the mag carrier that went on it.
It is sturdy and inexpensive and I like the extra length and the buttpad. I have it on a 20" gun now. The rubber makes it a little easier to do mag changes as it sticks on the shoulder a little better. |

The FAb Defense one that Sig used on their rifles has a better battery storage solution than the CAA one. You will NEVER loose your batteries while using the Fab Defense stock. If you dont use the batter compartment or the rail, on the CAA stock, that area can be removed with a few allen screws, saves on weight. Other companies may make better and more expensive stocks but for 90% of us that expense will never be nessasary. I have sent both of these stock to our troops in the sand box. I have mailed 40+ CAA stocks and 15 Fab Defense stocks over there to be used in active combat, I have NEVER had a return or any complaints / concerns. Both stocks are grreat stocks and both are avalable on the EE boards by me.
