I recently got one. Easy to install, versatile, light in weight, kinda pricey.

Very solid rail system.

I have the CASV-M, but I should have ordered the EL. For some reason I was thinking I had a mid length gas system when I ordered the handguard. Oh well, I just cut the front sight off and ordered the VLTOR CASV front sight. (I don't care for the front sight as there are no appreciable detents to hold it upright.)

I like the handguard, but it does make finding mounts for optics a bit challenging. The additional height of the top rail makes co-witness impossible with an EOTech, but it does put it pretty close with an Aimpoint in its standard low mount.

I also don't see the point of the system in general unless you have the older M203, don't most of the new launchers mount to the bottom of a standard quad rail?

Stickman, the king of gun porn Seriously, that rifle looks absolutely fantastic. That is the first CASV I think I have seen without a FFS, but I have never realy gone out of my way to research them. Might have to now

Hey stick, what top rail system do you have on this rifle?
Is it the standard one that comes with the CASV?
Thanks, erik

I run the CASV-M on my Recce build.  My barrel has a shaved FSB and I am running a 1-4X scope so I had no interest in a front sight.  The CASV is an incredibly light free float handguard system.  I like it because I can place the included picatinny rails where I want and am left with a smooth, easily grasped handguard that isn't three inches in diameter like some of the railed systems, once you had panels to them.  I also like having the full length rail on the top, ideal for pushing optics forward.  Because I am running a fluted heavy barrel I found the CASV a great place to ofset the added weight of the HB.  Compared other free float systems out there the CASV is lighter and more flexible to use.
