Went to range today to test out this conversion BCG. It fired off the first 15 rds without any issues. Then FTE started... empty casing kept getting caught between the bolt and charging handle, or just get caught by the bolt itself. Happens pretty much every other round.
Anyone know what could be causing this? Thanks! |

CMMG makes a special anti jam charging handle for 22's that should cure your troubles.

FTE's in the charging handle are caused by other issues with the BCG or mags.
Another recent thread shows the bolt head space is too deep and extractor fit is off. A properly working .22 BCG should not throw empties into the charging handle. Another issue could be the mag feed lips. Some older BDM mags needed the feed lips trimmed to work with the CMMG and Spikes BCG's. The empty would hit a feed lip on the way out. Dave N |

Which CMMG are you using?
I have an older stainless model that does not have the brass collar to lock it into the barrel extension. I had issues with feeding and ejecting. I could never get it to run a full magazine without at least one issue. I now use the TACCOM extractor, enhanced firing pin and two pressure plugs. One plug helped a lot but two absolutely removed all rearward movement of the conversion on recoil and as a result it feeds and ejects without a hitch. |

The front of the handle hits the gas tube and won't go all the way in. I thought this was meant for a dedicated upper without gas system. |

Appears to work.. I mean the first mag well without a hitch. I am starting to suspect the Federal Ammo as the extractor area was very dirty and greasy when I cleaned it. I read it somewhere that they have some kind of grease on them and I wonder if it's making it too sticky for the casing to come out smoothly. |

Hmm I might have to look into that pressure plug. |
