I’ve got a 10.5” CMMG dedicated 22lr upper. I ran it regularly on a registered lower in auto with no issues. I switched to the super safety, had to get a different trip, but it ran great….until it didn’t. I was using the CMMG weight and the borebuddy SS trip. One day, it just stopped cycling. It does work fine in regular semi. In SS mode, I get two maybe three rounds, and a dead trigger with a live round and a light strike in the chamber. I bought the borebuddy adjustable weight set. I’ve tried all sorts of combinations. Nothing made it better, all the steel weights made it worse. I’ve run four different types of ammo. They all do the same thing. The recoil spring maybe? I tried a new factory CMMG spring, no difference. It’s a standard trigger group. I haven’t tried replacing the trigger spring yet, but maybe I’ll try that next. Any ideas? |

The other thing that really reduced my dead trigger issues was a using the full set of KVP reduced power trigger springs. Reduced the force required from the bolt for reset and also made reset feel more positive to me. Unfortunately, 22lr and FRT can be fickle. One day it runs great and the next it's full of fail...
