Anyone own one? How do they shoot?

I have one of their lowers. No problems with it. About to buy one of their uppers to go with it.

My early CMMG upper is completely reliable inspite of being a rebranded DPMS brl.

I have owned two and both were top quality parts and assembly.  They have since earned a reputation for spotty quality control attributed to being overwhelmed with orders.  If their QC is fixed, they are near the top.

On the other hand: One very reputable gunsmith here does not have a favorable opinion of their barrel quality. having worked on several dozen or more.

Edit for spelling.

I bought a new CMMG upper this year and it's fine. In fact, it is the smoothest-cycling upper I've had. 16" med-con mid-length 1:7, M4 upper and FA carrier. I put it on an Aero lower with an unissued M16A1 stock.

I have a 16 Med-Con midlength upper, so far 100% only about 1k rounds through it

I had a CMMG gun with a WASP barrel. I really liked it but I got rid of it because someone offered me something for it that I could not refuse. It ultimately led up to me getting a Spikes Midlength, that, in my opinion was smoother and of better overall quality than the CMMG. For just shooting occasionally, I think the CMMG is a decent gun

I bought a chrome-lined 5.56 CMMG 14.5" pencil middy barrel back in 2008 for my son's Spikes build.  It was one of the only barrels I could find at the time due to the election craze and I was apprehensive based on some of the barrel accuracy and QC issues I had read about, but I've been very pleasantly surprised with its accuracy through about 2500rds so far.

I've had mine for over a year now and love it, never an issue.
I put several hundred rounds of brass thru it, and have put several hundred more rounds of steel thru it no problems.

A buddy bought one a month or so ago and he really likes it.  He says it runs very well for what little he has used it.  But I have never used one myself.

I have a CMMG, 14.7 chrome w/ AA piston since 2008.  The only problem I ran into was at about 700rds of brown bear the cases started sticking in the chamber, it just needed to be cleaned. I would buy another, if I did'nt have 2 AR's already.  CMMG = GTG

14.7  M4 CMMG since Oct. '07, and no negative issues.  I did replace the BC with a Colt GI unit before shooting began.

I have a 14.7 upper. Been great to me. But I did swap in a BCM BCG.

Put my complete RRA upper on a complete CMMG lower.  Great fit.  All my P-Mags, GI mags, C-Products, and Brownell's mags fit nicely in the well. Standard trigger is nice and crisp.

Three uppers, two lowers, plus a bargain bin WASP.  I've ran them enough to induce one extractor failure, but they've been accurate and reliable.
The conversion kits aren't bad, though the new conversion uppers are the real value.

My M18 upper can print 1.5" groups at 100m with pretty affordable PPU 75gr HPBT ammunition, couldn't really ask for better out of such an affordable rifle.

Thanks for the good feedback guys. If I don't end up with a DD, I'll get one of these... Or a Spike...

well as much as I love mine, I also have a spikes. As someone has said it seems like CMMG bit off more then it could chew and QC and customer service has been slipping. If you have the option a DD or Spikes are very solid companies. Again not saying CMMG doesnt make a good product, but those are 2 great (in most views) better alternatives. Spikes might even be cheaper

Got a CMMG Bargain Bin rifle and it's been pretty good. The buffer tube was screwed in a tad too far on mine but I fixed that.

I have one of their chrome lined bargain bin rifles with about 1000 rounds through it in 5 months.  Granted I just replaced the BCG with a Spikes Nickel Boron so we'll see how that runs.  I've gotten 1 MOA groups out of this rifle using Fiocchi 77grn Matchkings with an ACOG.  Most of the time I run XM193 ammo and have on had two FTF's do to bad primers.
