I am haveing 40% or more missfires with this kit. I am getting light primer strikes. Its like the fireing pin is to short. The kit slips in the receiver nicely with no problem. I just get a lot of clicks when the hammer drops. It is not the ammo as I have tried several.

Thoughts, There are three things we recommend. This is covered in the instructions. They are hammer, ammo and buzzing the chamber. Any of these can cause light strikes.     |

CMMG thanks for showing interest in my issue. I am fairly technically proficient. I did polish the chamber. Its not been disassembled. It has a notched hammer, However it makes full contact with the fireing pin, And my previous kit worked flawlessly in this firearm with the same hammer. Could the fireing pin spring be to strong? Causing light strikes.
The bolt face is not closeing all the way every time as the extractor causes the kit resistance just before the bolt face makes contact with the chamber. It may be nessacery to weakin the extractor spring and the fireing pin spring. What is your opinion? |

As was mentioned, was the bolt disassembled prior to shooting?
CMMG will get you running, don't worry. It'll be a Hoot once you get things going.... Nothing is more fun. Well. 
Spec Added: You got a reply in before mine went up. Sounds like you have some good ideas to try. I'll let CMMG answer directly. The bolt needs to close all the way or light strikes will happen. Good Luck |

Make sure you buzz out the chamber according to the instructions below using a high speed drill and bore brush. Also, if you are running Remington, this will not feed reliably which can lead to light strikes. If it isn't ammo, hammer or buzzing, we want the kit back for repair or exchange. |

I would bet on the notched hammer. The bolt can drag slightly. Like all AR components, specs will varry. It doesn't take much.
It won't be a spring issue. A kit shouldn't take tuning to run and thats CMMG's stance. I've got two conversion kits and 1 dedicated upper. Every one has worked from the start-3 fte's in the 1st maf with one before I buzzed the chamber. Try what was mentioned, buzzing the chamber, hammer drag from the notched hammer, and use a copper washed ammo like Winchester 555 or Fed 550 bulk. CMMG will have you running in no time. |

Reading this thread with great interest, as I just purchased a CMMG kit for my M4.
Taking it to the range this weekend with my son to try it out. I hope it will be accurate and troublefree. Any gun that is not accurate is just a club, and I have sold several in the past. I only keep the ones that work and work well. 
Well, we made it to the range and the kit worked flawlessly. Almost the same point of aim as the 5.56 at 25 yards using the Aimpoint and irons. It was close enought for my son and several friends that were there to use it on rimfire falling plates as fast as they could pull the trigger. No failures that were not from a bad round. Easy to install and use and very simple with no real diffferences in the operation. Just remove the full size bolt and place the adapter in. Made sure it was lubed up and popped in a full mag and handed the M-4 to my son. 25 rounds later, we had a winner and he was all smiles. Just to be fair, when I gave my son a 20 round mag of 5.56 and had him shoot at 100 yards at a 8 inch steel gong, he hit it almost everytime and really loved hearing the gong sound each time he would hit it. This kit has found a permanent place in my range bag and will save many times over what it cost. I highly recommend that if you have an AR you buy one of these CMMG kits. Keep up the good work CMMG. |

The kit will not be the only determining factor for accuracy. 1/7 will not get you great accuracy.
1/9 will be better. I get about 1.5" at 25 yards with Winchester 555 bulk with a 1/9 11.5" 5.56 barrel. 16" 1/9 bull gets about 1" @ 25. If you are looking for accuracy, you need a dedicated upper with a 1/16 twist. Kits will get you training accuracy or plinking accuracy. |

I think you may be right. I have been working my azz off. So no time to play with it. From what I hear CMMG stands behind their stuff. I beleive from their stand up and fast responce to let me know they are there if needed is nice.
