Hallo,
I just bought a CMMG M4-LE 22lr dedicated. The rifle "out of the box" shoots a good 5/6 inches to the left at only 25 yards. I had to drive the magpul rear sight full to the right to zero the gun to get a point of aim / point of impact. I suspected the front sight to be mis-aligned and contacted immediatly the CMMG Tech support team . Their reply was word for words "Sounds like the front sight is canted. You will need to "tweak" it a little." A truly amazing customer service So guys ... Have you experimened a similar problem ? Given the strength of technical assistance provided by CMMg , can you please help me and tell me how to correct the problem without causing any dammaged ? Many thanks, NB - incidently I cant believe a company release a gun with such a problem, . Maybe it's down to luck but we certainly never experiemented such problems even with our rock bottom budget Chinese Norinco club guns... |

FSB cant is never good. Can you see for sure the front sight is canted? Set the upper upside down, without the rear sight and see if it has wobble to it.
Could be the rear sight. If it does not balance with the flat rail on the upper receiver and ears on the front sight you can do a couple things. Bad as it sounds, you can smack the FSB in the direction it needs to go with a hammer. You can also remove the barrel, file the notch in the upper receiver very slightly on the side the barrel needs to move, and use a small piece of shim(I use a small piece of aluminum can) to move the front sight in the correct position. It doest take much. This can happen when the flash hider is intalled after the barrel is installed using an action block instead of a barrel vise. Been there and done that. Were you not in GB, I'm sure CMMG would just send a call tag and fix it. Dave N |

I had the same problem with mine, but in the opposite direction. It was shooting 6" right..... I loosened the barrel nut and twisted the barrel full right. (Quite a gap between the pin and the notch in the receiver.) I just held the barrel in that position while re-torquing the barrel nut. You should have it easy. Twist your barrel full left, and the torque of the barrel nut will hold it there when you tighten it again. |

Quoted: If there is a gap, either the pin is the wrong diameter or the gap in the upper is machined too wide. It should be a snug fit. Dave N You know it, and I know it - but that is what CMMG sent me. (Complete upper.) Easier for me to just fix it, than send it back to the factory. |
