Well as you all can see I am new to the forum and have been searching like crazy for info.Lots of stuff found.  Well I too like so many other have got the bug and want a AR.  My gun guy can get me a Bushmaster M4A3  for 900 now or I can wait for the CMMG, don't have price on it yet or a time,  but with so much out there what would you guys do?   I know this is like a boxing match but for my first purchase I want something good but not to break the bank,  And this being my first I don't want to build.  Thanks  And If this was a topic I could not find it sorry

A bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush.   And I have a bad tase in my mouth from CMMG.

If your heart is set on something and you think you can get it in a reasonable time frame then go for it.

They are both decent rifles.  If you can get the Bushy M4A3 for $900, I would def go for that, that was a good price 8 months ago..

I paid that for a Bushmaster A2 Heavy Barrel in 2004.  Buy the Bushmaster then replace the extractor insert and spring with Bravo Company' extractor upgrade kit and you're set.

Definitely a good price on a new Bushy. Go for it. Down the line you can always sell it and get more than your money back. I'm a bird in the hand kind of guy too...

I like CMMG, but like others have stated, get what you can now.  That Bushy is GTG.  A BCM BCG would be a worthy upgrade if this is to be a SHTF-worthy gun.

Perhaps a little bit down the road, you'll decide you'd really have to have a 14.5" lightweight middy upper with perm vortex, 1/7 twist, F-marked FSB, and extended M4 feed ramps... put in an order with CMMG then.
