A local gun store has a CMMG lower with standard trigger and a 6 pos stock for $500. What is the consensus on CMMG 308 lowers? I searched with relatively little reviews on the lowers. Quality, fit etc.
In addition,  I have all the tools for AR15s and was wondering what other tools do I need to build an upper and work on the lower? I understand that CMMG lowers will fit on DPMS styled uppers. I'm looking to build a SASS or "National Match" rifle as offered by Armalite.
Thanks for feedback.

Would rather put that money towards a Mega .308 billet matched upper and lower then build my own rifle using and Armalite national match barrel.

I slapped a DPMS upper on a buddy's CMMG lower and was shocked at how good the match is - heck it fit better than on my DPMS. Color & finish perfect match, no rattle, pins slid right in with just the right tightness...

I got a complete lower minus the buttstock...I used mostly DPMS parts and built this rifle.
The SASS barrel is 3.5 LBS...I sold the barrel and got a Reiner Arms Select barre 20",  which
I have not installed...

I bought a receiver that was milled exactly like the CMMG lowers for $125 at a local gun shop. It was made by Fidelis Arms
