I am going to use CMMG for a upper and their barrels are 1/7 twist. is that good. does only certain ammo shoot accurate through it?

I would want and have 1 in 7" twist. Mine is a CMMG upper. It should shoot everything fine with the exception of some of the very light varmint bullets running fast. I haven't tried any of those.

1:7 twist is good for anything 55 gr. and higher. I've never shot anything lighter but I've seen posts to the effect that really light rounds might not do so well.
