I'm going to build an AR15 with a CMT Tactical billet receiver set and want to get the best parts to make a SBR. I'm wondering what is the best company to buy parts from for a really reliable, top tier gun?
I like Bravo Company, and Noveske, but any other suggestions from people have built a CMT AR. |

Have you picked a barrel/barrel length yet? As far as finishing out the upper/lower receivers, it depends on what you want to do immediately. For example if you want to stick in a mil spec trigger to start, and maybe upgrade to something later. If I were finishing out a CMT Billet receiver set, I would pick up the following: IWC QD Endplate - QD endplate for sling attachment, has a nice dark black melonite finish to match receivers Strike Industries Forward Assist - good forward assist, functions like any other forward assist, but looks very nice with billet receivers Strike Industries "Enhanced Ultimate Dust Cover" - polymer, lightweight, simplest install of all dust covers, and looks good Any reputable LPK - Palmetto State Armory LPK works well and I have never had a problem with one from here. I would order one with a Magpul MOE grip. Buffer Tube Kit - Palmetto State Armory Buffer Tube kit works well, again never had a problem with one, and can get one with a Magpul MOE stock if you like that stock, or see if they have a cheaper option if you have a different stock in mind. Charging Handle - All up to you, I have nothing but good things to say about the AXTS Raptor If you're interested in ambi safety selector, I have nothing but good things to say about my personal experience with the AXTS Talons, but there is also battle arms development ambi safety selectors (BAD-ASS) that people use too. For barrel/bcg I need a little more information, a BCM barrel and BCG together would honestly be perfect, but there are a TON of options for barrel/bcg, just depends on what you're looking for. Rail System - depends on barrel length and all that, and significantly depends on personal preference whether you like MLOK, keymod, quad rail, tube handguard, etc so I can't exactly guide you in a specific direction there. Gas block and gas tube - Maybe you can get a pinned gas block on the barrel you decide on, if not, just a low profile gas block with set screws works well if you are wanting to put a rail over the gas block. Gas tube - for the minimal price to get a melonited one over a regular stainless one, I would pick up a melonited gas tube. Muzzle Device - All up to you whether you want a flash hider or muzzle brake. Muzzle Brakes on an sbr can be horrific though. That about covers it to get you started thinking about every component of the rifle. I can answer any questions you have, just ask away |
