I would like to build an AR type rifle from an 80%. Looking at the materials available I came across the CMX - Ceramic Metal Matrix lowers (Sometimes called HTCA) . Does any body have any information about these. Are they any good? I would assume that they still need to be anodized.

http://www.ar15plus.com/default.asp Says "These High Technical Content Alloys were first deployed in military applications the early 1990's and continue to be used today on the M-16 for deployment in harsh operational environments." Can any body back this statement up? How did they hold up for the military?

Never used them I would recomend a good billet 80% from KT ord. Or second a forged lower. Several places sell them.
