OK, I am looking for a high quality AR. Is the Colt 6920 a good one to get? Does Colt follow the TDP for the military when building the 6920? Is the Colt 6920 built by the same Colt that builds the M4 and M16, or by a civillian company? Is there any company that builds the same quality for under 1300? |
I have both as well and I disagree. The parkerization job on the Colt was much better. The FSB looks much more clean and "seperated" from the barrel since Colt parkerized underneath of the FSB. Also, I like the look of the tapered FSB pins as well. My Colt's finish is a darker, smoother black as well. |
I have the opposite. The brand new LE6920 looks like it's been tossed around on a concrete surface. The bluing is inconsistent. The LMT is silky smooth. None of that really matters anyway, they both work. |
I have a LMT M4 14,5 upper on my Bushy/VLTOR lower Rock Solid Fit I also have a COMPLETE LMT Defender 2000 M4 14.5 its loose as a goose I like it I can take it apart by bare hands alone Also has Nothing to do with Accuracy |
| My issues were always Colts but for my first AR I went with an LMT. I am very happy with the fit and finish, very happy with the weapon over all. I said that I would never buy a Colt...but I have an LE6920 on the way to my FFL as my next AR. One of each sounds good to me. I will more then likely pick up a couple of more LMT lowers just to have for future projects. |

You won't regret buying the Colt. I know $1200.00 + seems high, but you are buying a great rifle, that given proper care, will never let you down. If you've been reading this site for any length of time, you'll know that it will do you no good if you just look at it. Take it to a range and shoot it, often. Also, learn how to properly clean it. Buy it and enjoy it! |
