I like this model
watching the mil chan last nite the GI was shooting 500M with eotech/mag ( dont like the optics ) he was hitting the target very well is the barrel 11.5 ? whats the model # |
| I was watching that to. The barrel was short but don't remember the length exactly. Why don't you like the Eotech + mag. Just put one on my AR after trying a bunch of other optics ....even the ACOG. Really like the performance, versatility. Don't care for batteries....but keep extra set in the grip. |

I bought my second aimpoint ML2 in 2001 allways works ML2/Larue mount on Defender 2000 14.5 M4 Bought 551 Eotech 4 yrs ago for my back up LMT 14.5 w/ bushmaster lower Okay I found my eotech dead 3 times with new batts BATTERY DRAIN So I cant trust it! Talk to Pat Rogers he is in the know (CHECK WHAT PARTS BRAKE up above topic) or IM Pat Pats seen many problems!! Crooked mounting Falling off rail Battery Drain This is my take alone My 551 got like over 10 screws and made of plastic type material so water could can get in the battery compartment and with all the screws I could see a problem Eotech will shut off and wont stay on 24/7 and my Battery drain wich is my # 1 beef I think if eotech gets the buggs work out it will be a outstanding optic I kept my 551 since its on my back up M4 and for range shooting its GTG I shoot the same size groups with both ML2/551 from 0 to 220y ALSO I have to say when I buy DURACELL N batts they seem to work well but other brands I had problems But to trust one with MY LIFE I will pass for now and stick with aimpoint of any tatical model |

I got the 557, had been looking at for a while. I did have to "play" with it for a little to get the mount to feel good and tight. They could probably still work on that. Don't want to be a battery salesman, but I would have to agree with you 100% on the Duracell's. Have to pass that on to anyone else looking at these optics. Don't put bargain batteries in good optics. |

Never tried it that far. I get tight groups at half that distance though with and without the aid of optics. Thanks. |

The FSB with the bayonet lug is a spare lying around in my parts bin. I decided to change it out since I have a bayonet lying around also. |

Since there is not enough distance between the FSB and the flash-hider, the ring on the bayonet has nothing to go over. Thus the bayonet won't be sturdy on there. Thus, Colt doesn't put lugged FSBs on anything shorter than 14.5" and have been doing so since the mid 1960's...

While I really never found the time to try it out, I really haven't thought about what you just said. Hmmm...maybe it's time to have my friendly blademaker to make a modified bayonet for me. Just the same...I could easily just swap back the original FSB.... |

Commando Bayonet

Ya know I have few Bayonets since I was a little kid But not a single M16 bayonet also Seems like Colt wouldnt bother with a FSB without Lug Just slap a F marked type with lug its not going to really matter since most wouldnt run a bayo |
|
the guy using it was a Pittsburgh PA swat team spotter. the optic was a MARS sight with an EOTECH Magnifier. the Other COP had a SR25. they were the only cops invited to the sniper challenge,
one member needed a short to mid range carbine for close targets on the course. He said all he had was that or a M700. and a SR25 and a M700 would have hurt their short range targets, he did hit at 500 M wit hit, and was the only one to hit the targets from the blackhawk |

TRUE I but still seems cheaper to slap on a regular Or maybe Colt thinks GI`s are Dumb and will add a bayonet to the 11.5 Like I said most wouldnt add a bayonet But thanks for your help warpig |
