I am looking for a scope to mount on a 20" 1-in-7 twist upper. I am right-handed but left-eye dominant so ACOG's, Aimpoints, etc. don't work for me. So, I can go for a scope which has more power. However, I still want something fairly quick, etc. I am looking at the 1-4X scopes and think it boils down to either a Meopta R1 Meostar or an IOR 1.1-4X. The Meopta reticle looks harder to "find" than the IOR. True? Also, given my problem, would you recommend a more powerful scope, say an IOR 2.5-10X Tactical? Any advice will be appreciated!

Sorry don't have any advice but why doesn't the aimpoint work for you? I'm the same way left eye/right hand. And mine is spot on all day. Just curious.

What I mean is that I can't shoot with both eyes open which is the point of that type of scope. If I shift to a left-handed hold, it works but I can't shoot worth a darn left-handed.

Gotcha sorry. My buddy who I always shoot comps with and I are both that way. However I shoot left handed with a rifle and right handed with a pistol. What about a reflex site if it's truly for CQB?

Wouldn't I have the same problem with the cross-dominance thing? My thought was that, since I have to close my left eye anyway, I might as well get something that goes from 1 or 2 power up to 4 or 6 power for longer shots. I don't shoot 3-gun matches so it's more for plinking. I was considering the CQB's because I like their reticles a lot better than the standard crosshair patterns. I have a RRA varmint with a long-range scope on it for more precision-type shooting.

Has anybody out there looked through these two scopes?

I have used both the IOR and the MeOpta.  They both have + and – to them.  For the MeOpta the true 1x and the daytime illumination, the draw back is the size.  The IOR 1.1-4x has a nice 223 reticle layout the draw back is the weight.  The MeOpta K-dot reticle is not hard to find when it illuminated when it is black I could see it being a little hard to see for some shooter.

Here is some more info on the MeOpta.

I would never call the Meopta reticle hard to find.  Quite the opposite.  Your battery wont just die and leave the reticle black either.

I have had only two customers say they had a hard time finding the reticle.   If you do not have the reticle illuminated and you are in a lowlight situation you can find it hard to see the reticle but this is with most scopes.  In daytime it is a very fast sight with or with out illumination.

You are right about the batteries.

I’m a big fan of the MeOpta K-Dot.
