It's a Canadian Colt C7 stock, kinda rare here in the states, I've never even seen one. They go on 20" government profile A2 barreled Canadian C7 rifles, with C7 uppers on A2 lowers, A2 round HG's, PG, delta ring and that Colt CS stock. They really belong in the A2 forum even though it has the C7 upper.
Edited to Add: You did very well picking that stock assembly up for $80.00 |

I do have a C7 style rifle, as you described (except for Hogue grip & Magpul trigger guard), that I can slap this on. |

Good idea, Take a look at the pictures of John Thomas' C7 clone in the A2 section, he has a CS stock on his and a Colt Canada rollmark with the maple leaf and french writing on a 80% lower. My favorite c7 clone to date and mine is very nice as well. Just need to get me one of those CS stocks someday to complete it with authentic parts. |

My C7 clone is just a blemished Armalite lower, Colt upper receiver, & a FNMI Govt. profile barrel. A "close enough" copy, nothing in great detail like his rifles. |

I got a whole box of them from a estate sale. CS is a A2, but it is A1 length. Which makes it 5/8" shorter than a A1. Yes they have the A2 butt plate. So they are basically a Type E stock with an A2 buttplate, kind of a transitional style buttstock between the Type E and A2. |
| Whole lotta people have been killed with a buttstock stroke since the invent of the gun. I also wouldn't advise with USGI military AR stock unless last resort. Was a little different in the fix bayonet days and wooden stocks but even they also got broken in many instances. A couple 1911's or Baretta's in pocket might be a better alternative but thanks for sharing how to. I sure wouldn't try it with CS, type C or earlier simply due to current replacement value. Probably explains how all the import demills stocks got trashed. |
| It's not just the strength of the buttstock itself at issue, but the strength of the receiver extension as well. I wouldn't want to hit anyone with the butt of an AR unless it was in a linear fashion. Still, you do what you gotta do eh? I wonder if AR-18 hinges ever got broken that way? They aren't the strongest. |

Many years ago I ordered a Colt A1 butt stock from SAW (Specialized Armament Warehouse). What I received was an A1 length A2 butt stock without the CS marking. Haven't ever seen one since. Were any made without the CS marking? someone here found a few a while back like that. haven't seen any more details around those. post pics if you have some. |

It looks just like a CS without the "CS"...
