Hey all!! Anyone tried any of this ammo from Cheaper Than Gold?? M855  CTD is not one of my favorite vendor's but at $5.67 per box (with the member discount) it seems to be an OK deal for M855 given peak ammo prices. In fact...aside from PD ammo I think they are one of only a hand full of sources for M855 ammo at the moment. Any thoughts?? As an aside...read some of the "reviews" on this stuff as they are a good source for a cheap laugh.

Not saying this stuff is a great buy, but dirty and sometimes dented cases are normal for .mil ammo. It does not effect function at all. |

I've never had any ammo called M855 so I bought a 250 round sampler from CTD. I paid $5.97 per 20 because I'm not a member. As mentioned before the rounds are a bit dirty and I too cleaned them off. Seems bullet sealer has been slopped on the brass and some rounds appear to have been cleaned with steel or brass wool because of the fine scrartches that steel wool leaves on some the brass The boxes are huge for just 20 rounds but it does shoot well thru my RRA NM 20". Accuracy is at least as good if not better than the Guat and Radway I got from Aim... felt like it was a bit hotter than Radway and Guat. I like the stuff but doubt if I'll be getting more or at least in quantity since Black Hills 55gr FMJ can be had for the same money and Black Hills in my rifle makes me look like I can shoot! |

CTD is advertising it as such, saying that the boxes are a misprint. One has to assume that this is accurate, as selling ammunition under those circumstances could give rise to serious liability if what they say is not true. |
