I went out and shot my CZ upper today for the first time and it is balloning the case at the rim and blowing a hole in the case where the firing pin strikes.  Any sugestions?

Is the chamber deep enough?

Could also be a dirty chamber, not allowing the case to fully enter the chamber.

FWIW; AFAIK; IMHO; YMMV; yadda, yadda, yadda.

Try a thorough cleaning first.

My CZ had a similar problem when I got it.  I had to send it to Stateline Guns in NH (They used to be the warranty shop).

Since I got it fixed my CZ has been unbelievably reliable, I have ran two 550 round  value packs in an afternoon with zero jams and no cleaning.  I have shot thousands of rounds this year (mostly Federal red box bulk pack from Wally world and Federal blue box target ammo) and can't remember a jam and it's pretty accurate too.

I think that CZ didn't always use good QA in assembling some of these units, but once you get them squared away they will out shoot any of the Ciener based conversions.  Good luck.

Thanks for the input.  I will see if I can clean it up some more.  I didnt think to see if the round was entering the chamber far enough, I have never had that problem with a rimmed case before.

Thanks
