I have a bit of a dumb question about C Products magazines, so hopefully someone will be able to help me. I bought a few 30rd C Products magazines New in Packaging from a classified ad. I was looking to buy a few more just because they are really nice magazines. Now, when I checked online, I see that there are two magazines in the 30 round variety: aluminum and stainless. Looking at a couple of my mags, I can't tell if they are aluminum or stainless. I can say that they have the orange followers and they are black. But beyond that, I can't tell the difference.
Is there any way to figure out which material? I haven't taken mine apart and there is no stamping that I can see. Perhaps dry weight would tell the difference? Thanks! |
| Found a description that showed loaded weight of both the aluminum and stainless steel mags: aluminum is 1 lb .4 oz. SS is 1 lb 2.1 oz. Doesn't seem like a lot, but 2 ounces is about 5 rounds of 5.56 ammo. My loaded magazine weighed 1 lb fully loaded. So I'm pretty sure it's aluminum. Thanks for the suggestions. |
