[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Cabelas .223???

Cabelas has .223 ammo $279/1,000 $144/500 55gr FMJ. Anyone have any experience with the stuff?? Some of the people commenting on their website are saying it shoots "cleaner than Russian" (Wolf)

It's re-manufactured ammo, most likely form Ultramax

No most likely about it, it is Ultramax. I tried 100 rounds of it a few weeks ago and it seemed to shoot just fine. As for dirty, I don't know yet. I shot off 300 rounds of 3 different brands to test function and accuracy, I'll have to try another time to see about dirty.

I've shot about 1000 rounds of it thru mine. I haven't had any problems with it.

My 20" Bushmaster shortstrokes on it. I have never heard of anyone else having this problem though.

My 16" Superlight loves it.

use it with caution. Ultramax has caused problems in the past but supposedly it's been corrected

Just a heads up it's on backorder to atleast the end of August, when the expect their next shippment.
