| I had an average muzzle velocity of 2600 feet per second with the chronograph 10' in front of the muzzle. How do I calculate my actual muzzle velocity? Thanks. |
| It was the Sierra match king 77 grain HPBT. I just used the Sierra I6 software to set the chart increments so I could get a velocity at 10'. Then I just adjusted the muzzle velocity until my 10' velocity on the chart equaled what it did in real life. I would think that would be accurate, is there an easier way to do this? |

04Cobra,
Your muzzle velocity will be approximately 2609 fps (depending on your atmospheric conditions). If you know the B.C. of your bullet and your atmospheric conditions, muzzle velocities can easily be calculated with quality external ballistic software programs. |

Yes use a ballistic calculator, (Google JBM Ballistics). Enter the information (bullet BC, weight, velocity and there is a place to put in at what distance the velocity was measured at). At the bottom you enter the atmospheric data. When you get the chart printed out it will compute the velocity at the muzzle for the disance = 0 data. |
