I just bought a new Bushmaster about a month ago, and I was wondering if the Mini Y Comp on this post-ban rifle can be removed. I havent had a chance to shoot it yet, but are they a bad thing to have on there? Just curious as to if I can put something different on there. |

I had a gunsmith remove mine and replace it with a Phantom flash suppressor. The Y-comp is exceptionally loud and the gas that blows back out of it makes it unpleasant for people behind you. Besides all this, really the only reason it has the Y-comp on it is because of the AWB. So I guess I also replaced it as a matter of principle. |
| Actually, the Mini Y is a pretty good compensator. It really is good at reducing muzzle jump. I have one on a Bushy 30" extra HBAR I bought and there is virtually no recoil. It is really frickin loud though. Mine is pinned on. Been debating on to just leave it alone or cut it off. |
