They have some great looking rifles/carbines, alright.

The barrels are cold hammer forged, which is considered a high standard.

Interesting "outie" with the M203 step on the M4eh barrel - don't you think?

wonder what the benefit is.....

Ive been thinking about a SFW clone, but I don't have a a clue as for many of the parts.  Anyone know where to get the Triad rail?  Or does anyone have the profile of the barrel?

No source that I know of Jesse. I just was at the right place at the right time.
I might part with it if the offer was right.

That reverse step, bulge or whatever you want to call it is for Diemaco's proprietary M203 mount.  I'd show you a pic but I don't have any available, should take my camera into work sometime.  The mount is a quick swap kind, the whole thing is held on by the slip ring and a quick release pin behind the FSB on a 20" barrel, so a bulge was necessary on the C8's.  It makes the whole contraption a lot heavier than it should be and the M203 sits lower as well, can't wrap your whole hand around the mag anymore.

That Aussie desert camo reminds me of VN - era 'duckhunter' camo. Very cool! Looks like it would be pretty effective as well. You might check out marstar.ca for the carry handle. I'm not sure which parts they can export and which they can't, but you would think a carry handle would be okay. CNC gunsmithing makes one but I'm sure it's not identical. I sure like the idea of an A1 CH.

Good deal

Browning did submit a DA (I'm pretty sure the specs called for double action, not single action, thus precluding the Browning HP from even entering) version of the HP in the US pistol trials, but it didn't win.

Back to the Canadian M4, I remember a Canadian ar15.com member said something about Diemaco would do well to simply copy the US M203 mounting design, instead of spending tons of money to come up with something that doesn't work better, but is just different.  The Diemaco M203 sits lower than the US pattern, and requires the barrel portion behind the flash suppressor to be strengthened.

Some of the Diemaco AR15/M16 weapons are just god damn ugly, looks like someone over there got inspired by Tapco's unhappy way of accessorizing

Look at these beauties, especially the one on the bottom

The barrel is said to be heavy under the handguards only, and lighter forward of the FSB. Since the barrel is 15.8" long (due to the British contract accuracy requirements), a special sleeve was made to allow the use of a bayonet on the longer barrel as well as to act as a forward stop for a grenade launcher. Notice that the sleeve stops where the front of a normal M4 barrel groove would end, and that the front portion of the sleeve is the same diameter as the flash suppressor.

If the barrel were actually machined with this "outy" in place, there would be no way to install the FSB, thus the sleeve. I'm sure some enterprising individual will machine some of these soon. The cool thing about this set-up is that there is no need for the use of a 'fake' pinned-on flash suppressor to create a viable clone with a 16-inch (close enough) barrel. Who knows... maybe the popularity of the Elcan will improve, as well.

The A1 carry handle is pretty neat, but I'd think that its lack of availability would be counteracted by the desire by most to display the "correct" optic, namely the Elcan.

It reminds me of the first generation GG&G carbine sling plate, I'm sure it isn't but this is even worse.  The sling loop is too tall and interferes with the charging handle, I've given away mine, Colt in the US will do well to let users buy their own and better designs
