Any of you guys have a source for 77 SMK or 77 Gr nosler with Cannelure?

I know they used to offer it a couple years back.

I know this for sure... Most (if not all) big time manufactors of bullets do not insert a Cannelure crimp on their bullets that are not in the 55 GR and 62 GR FMJ variety.

Hollowpoints, OTM, SMK, Polimer Tip, Match bullets and the rest do not come with Cannelures because neck tension keeps the bullet in place and the Cann Crimp in the bullet can limit the range in which the bullet is seated.

Those that insert Cannelure crimp in bullets are normally other people who get the bullets in bulk, and have industural equipment for such actions.

There are a few machines out there that you can roll your own Cann Crimp, the prices range from (what I've seen) between $50 and $2,000.  The 2K price range is for the industural one where you can roll about 200 bullets in about 2 minutes.

Some ammo manufactors roll crimps on bullets that normally do not have Cann Crimps.  For instance Black Hills Ammunition has a few rounds of ammo that come with Can crimps.

The 77 SMK CL is a new addition to the Sierra line of which was made specifically for the MK262 Mod1 ammo requirements.  Its not a "true" cannelure like you are used to seeing.  All Black Hills Hornady 75 grain ammo is now cannelured.
