I am curently running M4 Carbines with collapsible stocks. I use the Wollfe extra power CAR springs with a heavy carbine buffer. Why I got started with the extra power, I don't recall. I am wondering if there is a standard power version of this or a better alternative to the extra power. Would the reduced power springs damage my rifles???and how would I know?? During tactical matches I sometime need to pull the charging handle with one hand/finger---and as the day wears on and the carbine seems to get heavier :-) this becomes more difficult. There does not seem to be a big market out there for other than the extra and the reduced power carbine units. Any ideas-thoughts-suggestions appreciated. Thanks Kattman from Michigan |

The 3 carbines I have experience with all run standard buffers and springs. No problems. All RRA 6 pos stuff. They all have worked fine. My dad's M4gery has probably the most rounds through it out of those three and runs like a rape dape. (old saying but means good) I did get on FTE once, but I do believe it was the ammo. ADCOM. It wasn't that the extractor failed to do it's job, it was completely stuck. Bolt forward. Just rammed the CH on the bench and cleared it. That carbine does eject a little forward though. Like a garand. My new LW carbine shoots them 90 degrees. Some say if throwing forward a heavier buffer could be used. I say just try a standard set up and see how she does. |
