Hey I am new to this forum but I wanted to tap the vast amount of Knowledge of everyone to help me over come my issue.

My carbon 15 (old version before bushmaster acquired them) is having a loading malfunction about every other shot.
The spent cartage is getting caught (see picture) while the new cartage is being loaded into the breach, and hence resulting in a jam.
I cleaned it impeccably but the malfunction still occurred.
I am not sure what is happening any advice?

 Thanks Brian

Check the ejector pin for good tension or anything else that doesn't look correct.

Yep, confirm that the ejector is moving freely in the bolt face (just has spring tension), and confirm that the extractor is not crack, the claw worn, and it's spring still in working condition.

If everything checks out, install a #60 O-ring around the out side of the extractor spring to add some tension to it.  This will insure that the spent case is retained by the extractor to the end of the B/C rearward stroke to be properly ejected from the bolt face, and the spent case not dropped off the bolt face before the end of stroke.

Thanks guys for the input, I will try to do what you said,
 I came across something disturbing,

http://www.ar-15.com/posts.php?forum=19&topic=1282&r=1280

he ammo gets jammed while feeding into the chamber. Every 3rd or 4th round was jamming up... Apparently it is a commomn problem with the carbon models. Bushmaster says the barrel and the bolt  on the gun are not the right parts for that model. They told me they could mill out the feed going into the chamber, and that would be a temporary fix, or I could just replace the bolt and barrel for about 300bucks. tThe way I see it, a gun that you cant depend on isnt really a gun then...

But I have a carbon 15 by Par Ordinance so I find that it may not be the case.

None the less I will try what you mentioned.
Thanks
Brian

Could it also be slightly undergassed(short stroking)? Does it strip a new round from the mag as it jams?

ETA: Nevermind, I see it does. Try the o-ring or d-ring or whatever.

Okay, I'm talking out my arse, but.. did they make that ejection port as small as they possibly could, or what? Tell me that's just the photo making it look like that.
