Any of you cut a carbon fiber tube before? What type of saw and blade did you use?

Not yet but I'm entertaining the idea of drilling some holes in a mid length PRI tube to match the look of the rifle forearm. I'm interested in finding an answer to your question also.

... I haven't cut a tube but I've drilled out a bunch of holes.. I would get a cutting tool meant for cutting composites or you're probably going to end up with a bunch of frayed fibers on the area where you cut ..

What my bit looks like : It's made by onsrud

I have cut a couple with a hacksaw, then cleaned up the end with a belt sander.  Worked great, just don't breath the dust.

I have never worked with carbon fiber before so I was curious if a certain blade or way to cut it would be neccesary. I'm thinking about a blade with a high tooth count would be good enuf. Didnt know you could sand it though, thats good to know.

I've used abrasive cut off wheels and diamond coated hole saws.  Both worked.  Even the finest teeth would probably tear the carbon fiber up pretty badly.

I havent cut onw yet, in fact ive been looking for a good source to get tubeing...   i have thought about it and i was going to just try a hack saw and tape up the tube with masking tape, so that it would help make the cut go smoother... and then sand with a belt sander...

Where can i get Carbon fiber tube'n for a good price????
