I'm putting together my first AR15 and I am trying to figure out if all carry handles were created equal. What are national match sights? What do the various stampings like "AA" mean? Do some sights allow for better accuracy than others? I was thinking about buying a used Colt, then CDNN had Armalite "national match" for sale, or CMMG has handles for $90. Any other suggestions? |

I ordered my kit without asking that question. I got the national match sights because "I wanted long range accuracy" the peep in a national match sight is soemthing like .050 and .060. A battle sight is roughly twice to three times that diameter. Its small enough that it was difficult for me to use except on a sunny day. as far as the other questions, someoen more experienced than I will have to answer those |
| There is a difference in sight basses or the part that holds the arperture and windage knob..some are thinner and have more movement while others are thicker and have less to no movement..and this has happened on carry handles with the same forge mark from the same vendor. It doesnt effect accuracy or zero but you can tell by looking and the skimpy bases just look cheap and dont fit well. |
