What disadvantage will i see if i get the carry handle mount and mount an EOtech on top of the carry handle?  I'll probably be shooting 100 yards and under for the most part.

Also which EOtech model should i get. I want AA batteries and i don't need NV capable?

The sight will be around three to four inches over bore. You'll trade off accuracy somewhere, depending on at what distance you zero your sight. If you zero it at 100 yds, your very close up shots will be 3-4" below your sightline. Do you have the option to mount it directly to flattop or do you have an A2 style receiver? If you can, mounting it directly on flattop will help in giving you a flatter overall bullet trajectory. An option, if you have an A2 receiver, is to replace the forearm with a quad rail and mount it on that, where it will co-witness your iron sights.  If you're going to be shooting at only ONE distance permanently, it doesn't matter how you mount your sights, just sight it in at that distance and you're golden.

I'll be shooting 50-100 yards. I can get the goose neck mount, but i really don't like the way it puts the sight in front of the carry handle.

I just found out for the gooseneck mount i'd have to drill a hole in the carry handle. I really don't want to do that. It's an A2 upper. I think i'll just go with the normal carry handle mount.
